Tromba Mundi 2: Electric Boogaloo is in the can
June 21, 2011After a long 3 days of recording, Tromba Mundi has another CD’s worth of music recorded. This time we recorded at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where Dr. Belck is the Chair of Jazz Studies. He asked one of his colleagues, Kim Pensyl, also a trumpet player (among his many talents), to be our engineer. Kim couldn’t have been more helpful in the booth. He also has a new CD out which all of you should go and buy right now.
The sessions stayed remarkably loose, as it can be a tedious task to record. There were several “had to be there” moments, including hearing the beauty of what 5 trumpets can do and the tragedy of me tonguing low ‘G’s.
